Dear Rontimco,

I have just purchased one of your domes.  Where do I begin?  I now know what true happiness is.  I live in New England where our summers are very short.  It is now October and I am swimming in my pool every night.  It is everything that you advertise and more.  It's like your own little tropical island right in your own back yard.

Dealing with your company has been the most wonderful experience I have ever had with a company.  I feel like I am dealing with family.  Everyone is courteous and a real joy to deal with.

Everything was explained so detailed that there were never any surprises.  Everything went like clock work.  The video was very helpful and really let you see everything you needed to know from start to finish.

Your web site was very informative and one of the best that I have seen.

The workmanship of your dome is outstanding .  It's features and operation is more than I ever expected.

When you call your company you get Mary.  This woman is the most wonderful person I have ever dealt with.  She is kind, polite, patient and so knowledgeable of everything.  I hope you all know how valuable she is.  She made this whole experience so smooth.

I would and do recommend your company and product whenever I have the opportunity and with no reservations.  I think you should train companies in customer service as you really are the best.  Thank you so much for the opportunity to do business with all of you.

Sincerely, Melody and David, New Durham, NH

Brie, Melody's Rottweiler, likes floating on her back... with help of course!
This dome was really bought for my dogs.  One of which has hip dysplasia.  This dome has allowed him to swim every day which has made him almost well again and acting like a healthy 3 year old should act.  This has been just the therapy that he needed.  Thank you so much.  We are naming this The Doggie Dome.

Keep smiling!
Gouda is a happy pup now that the pool is open in winter!

Hi Deke, (Deke has since retired)

Over the last few days [the dome] has faced the sternest of tests - and passed with flying colours.

We put the dome up three weeks ago, just two days before my 12 year old boy's slumber party and we immediately had 16 kids going mad in the pool. It was safe, clean and - as my son asserts -  much better for ball games, because there is no need to get out of the pool to retrieve a dirty ball from the flower bed, since it just bounces off the ceiling and walls!

Swimming in the dome really is a very pleasant experience, combining the best of outdoor and in-door. There is something immensely pleasurable about swimming in the warm while it cascades with rain outside! In fact, the pool is now in more regular use than it has been all summer. (This could have something to do with the awful summer we've had in the UK this year).

However, I am especially impressed by the resilience of the dome in high winds. This past couple of days saw the worst storms in Suffolk since the hurricane of 1987. Although a power cut saw the dome deflate at one stage on Sunday evening, we re-inflated it on our return home and it withstood massive winds on Monday morning that took down four large trees on my land, two of which were less that 75 metres away from the pool area. Sadly, one of these was a major loss - an oak tree some 650 years old - but this says a great deal for the dome's staying power, even if it is fully sheltered on two sides, with the remainder partially sheltered by a 5ft reed fence. A second deflation on Monday - shortly after the worst of the storm - saw the dome catch a tiny tear (0.5cm) from the corner of an upturned chair left inside it, but this was put right quickly with some tape during inflation - and repaired more carefully once the dome was fully inflated.

Key Points for your information:
         - the dome can handle storms, but it can't handle power cuts caused by storms!
         - don't be tempted to put too many items in the dome around the pool area (chairs, plants etc) because in the event of a deflation - following a power cut - there is a risk of damaging the dome on sharp/pointed objects. (One small hole has now been repaired easily using the kit supplied.)
         - I have a Rolldek automatic cover: my guess is that this combines very well with your dome design and vice versa. It makes dome installation easier and allows more flexibility/space around the pool itself. But the Rolldek people must know that their cover is fairly useless on outdoor pools as soon as the leaves start falling in any quantity (since they get into the water around the cover, while cover pit also starts to fill up with rotting material). Their customers could find themselves less disappointed if they forged a complementary marketing arrangement with Rontimco!

These are early days (maybe the next major test comes next summer when we unfold and reinflate the dome having packed it away for a few months) However, I am very impressed. I am fully confident about the dome's reliability and resilience. Having stood up to the worst weather in the UK for 13 years (weather that tore up a 650 year old oak!) I know I can go away for weekends and holidays without worrying about the pool, and when we return, we can have a swim right away after a long journey. With so many other things to worry about (burglars, flooding etc) confidence of this level is an important consideration.

Finally, thanks for your help over the purchase last year. Your patience and advice - combined with some very thorough and ultimately reassuring content on your website - made the whole process a happy experience. Thanks! - Regards, Nick.

Mary,

Mike and I wanted to let you know that our dome has been installed. We love it !! We may become your show dome for this area. We have already had very curious people stop by and ask What is it? Then they say "this is cool!" when we show it to them. I have been in the pool almost everyday since the dome has been up. The temp here gets down to freezing at this time of year at night. The days have been between 50 and 65. When I get home from work around 3pm seems to be the optimum time to be in the pool. The air temp in the dome if the sun has been shining is around 78 and our water is heated to around 85. This is perfect for swimming laps or doing water aerobics.

We also wanted to let you know that your video and directions were very helpful. Thanks for your help. I have attached pictures of our dome, hope they come out okay. - Happy Swimmers Mike and Cheryl

Mary,

I am sending you some pictures of the dome.  We don't have the patio or the inside of the dome set up the way we want it, but I wanted to go ahead and send you some pictures. (see page 2 of the Photo Gallery)

We have already enjoyed the dome immensely and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.  I was concerned about Lynn (with his heart and back problems) and my 73 year old father installing the dome, but with the instructions that were included and the way the dome was packed it could not have been any easier.  When I got home from work last Friday, Daddy and Lynn were in their swim trunks and ready to get in the water!

Thanks for your help in developing a product to make both of us happy and to satisfy our needs.  I now have my "indoor" pool and Lynn will have his "outside" pool this summer.  It was a pleasure working with someone that actually followed through and did what they said they would do! - Vicki M and Lynn W

Hi Ron,
I'm sorry it took me so long to send you this note. I have the dome up and it is cool!  I have never been happier with any purchase that I have made! Dealing with you and Rontimco was an absolute pleasure.  I have never received better customer service or product value. I appreciate your unending patience with me and all my phone calls.  You were always cheerful, friendly, and very helpful.  YouLouie's dome in Tacoma should consider being a Customer Service Consultant.

The dome was a bargain.  It was about half the price compared to two quotes I got from local swimming pool dealers.  And, mine is tailored made.  The local dealers only offered predetermined sizes.

The dome was easy to install.  The video and instructions were perfect.  I especially appreciated all the little details that you don't normally get. I just followed the steps and the next thing I know it was inflated.

If you ever need a customer reference, or, if you ever need a demo of your product in my area, I'd be happy if you called on me. Thanks again for everything Ron.  I can't emphasize enough how happy I am in my dealings with you and Rontimco.  I still plan to meet you in person some day. - Louie O, Tacoma WA

Hi Ron:  Didn't have your personal email address, and wanted to drop you a line.  We're enjoying the dome, and have experienced a recent ice storm and power failure.  The dome came down, and when the power came back up, it went up too......real easy......Cathy is the current primary Dome user, and is likely the best promoter / spokesperson.  Great Product guys !!!! - Cheers, Gary & Cathy S

Anita's cactus garden

Hi Mary, I got it up!!!!!   It is awesome, fantastic !!!  My friend wondered if screw anchors work (the kind you hold up poles or trailers with) and I got two guys to put it up : it works great. (Anita's dome anchors into the ground) They ran the gas line for the heater last night----- I will have warm water by today.   I LOVE IT !!!!! Thank you -  Anita V. Evansville, IN

Anita, with above ground pool, puts her cactus garden in the dome and they seem to thrive there. Be careful about puncturing the dome!

Ron,

The pool bubble arrived fine and is now in place and fully functional. My wife and I installed it with minimal problems. It took us about four hours start to finish (not counting the time it took me to clear the snow and ice from the pool deck before we got started). Attached is a digital picture that I took over the holidays.

I am pretty pleased with how the bubble works. We have had several days where the outside air temperature has been between 0 and 5 degrees F, yet we have been able to swim comfortably inside the bubble. I have also noticed that the pool heater is not running as much. I am anxiously waiting for the next gas bill to see how big a difference the bubble has made.

I want to thank you for your all your help in providing the bubble to us. Please feel free to use my name as a satisfied customer to future customers. - Thanks, Dave O., Los Alamos, NM

I purchased one of your pool domes two+ years ago for my deck enclosed above ground swimming pool. Overall I love the product and it has been a real joy. We have used our pool year round for the last two years even through the depths of the Michigan winter with very little problems. I keep the pool heated to about 90 degrees through the winter and I never have had any problems keeping the dome inflated in the worst of conditions here in Michigan and believe me it can get cold, windy and snowy. If ice starts to build up inside the dome I simply let the dome partially collapse for about 30 minutes and the turn the blower back on. This breaks the ice away from the dome surface and causes it to fall off.

Because I have an above ground pool with a wood deck around it I needed to lay carpet on the deck when I install the dome. This year I tried something a little different with great success. Before I installed the dome I laid down 2 mill plastic over the deck up to the pool edge. I then laid outdoor carpet over the plastic and stapled it down to the deck but left the outer two feet of the carpet unstapled. I cut the carpet to match the perimeter of the inside of the dome. After I installed the dome and inflated it I placed the inside flap of the dome between the carpet and the plastic. The overall result was a far superior seal then the previous two seasons. Previously the duty cycle on the blower was 75% on / 25% off. This year it 13% on / 87% off. The real advantage to this is not the savings in electricity but the savings in pool heating. Because much less cold air is being pumped in the dome the temperature inside the dome is typically 25-30 degrees above the outside temperature now and not 10-15 degrees. This means a lot less direct heat loss from the pool water.

Once again I think the product is great and well worth the money. - Chris B., Michigan
