INSTALLATION – INLFATION, DELFATION, & STORAGE It is easiest to have 2 or more people help to spread out the dome. Be careful not to slide it on anything sharp or abrasive. Pick it up when ever possible. After connecting the cable to the eyebolts installing the blower, turn it on. (see instructions for details) Inflation takes from about ½ hour to several hours depending on the size of the dome, amount of air leeks, and number of blowers. To deflate quickly, turn off the blower, open the entries and lift the corners. The dome will deflate in a few minutes like this. - The dome should be stored in cool dry place, out of the sun. A garage or storage shed works great. If possible construct a wooded create so the dome can be protected from passerby damage. Also keep in a spot away from animals or rodents that may nest or chew holes in the vinyl. Be sure that the dome is completely dry before folding and storing to avoid mold and mildew. ANCHOR POINTS The bowing or swelling between anchors points is the result of air pressure, cable tension, heat, and how well the anchors were installed. Typically anchors are space every 18 to 36 inches. TEMPURATURE AND HUMIDITY The dome is a moist or humid environment. Most customers take their dome down in the summer months. (it can get very hot and humid). In the winter, the greater the difference between the temperature of the water and the temperature of the inside air, the more fog you will notice. There is no real way of determining the temperature of the inside air. The warmer you keep your pool water, the warmer the air inside will be. Remember the blower is bringing in outside air that may be very cold. The purpose of the dome is too help lengthen out the swimming season. Customers in very cold climates sometimes remove their domes during the coldest part of the season (Dec. and Jan.) | |
Additional heat to a dome is possible, but be careful, electrical heaters may short out from the moisture and it is an electrical and fire hazard. Gas heaters let off harmful fumes that don’t escape too easily in a dome. Some customers have brought heat to the blower itself using piped in hot air or by placing a heater right next to the intake fan. However, most customers find that they are satisfied just utilizing the pool water’s heat. TEARS AND REPAIRS The dome is made vinyl not Kevlar. Try not to put unnecessary strain on them. Tears and punctures can happen. When they do however, they are almost always an easy fix. We recommend using HH-66 vinyl cement. Apply glue to both sides of material and wait 3 to 5 minutes and press together (allow to dry at room temp). Wait 24 hours before inflating dome again. Kits will come with a repair patch kit. Extra vinyl and glue are available if needed.
